How The Race Works

The MGA Race to Makkah:
Where Champions Are Crowned

Division champions from the MGA Race to Makkah across the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa will earn an all-expenses-paid journey to the Race to Makkah World Final in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This is the summit of the global pathway.

Hosted at the breathtaking Royal Greens Golf & Country Club on the shores of the Red Sea, the World Final unfolds on a championship stage that has welcomed the game’s elite through events such as the Saudi International and LIV Golf. Immaculate conditioning, coastal winds and tournament-calibre set-ups ensure a test worthy of true national champions.

Yet what makes this championship unlike any other in the sport is the journey that surrounds it.

Finalists are given the opportunity to perform Umrah in Makkah and Madinah before stepping onto the championship stage. The week begins in reflection and concludes in competition. Faith and fairways converge in a way no other global golf platform offers.

Here, representatives from multiple nations stand shoulder to shoulder — each having earned their place through qualification in their home country. Three divisions. Multiple continents. One title in each category.

Royal Greens is where the Race to Makkah reaches its pinnacle — and where the next MGA World Champions are crowned.

South Africa

South Africa’s championship unfolds across two of Johannesburg’s most distinguished golfing stages. Blair Atholl opens the campaign with scale, purity and championship stature, a course that demands precision and composure from the very first tee.

The journey then moves to Steyn City, a modern masterpiece where strategy, pressure and leaderboard tension converge. Together, these venues create a defining two-day test worthy of the Race to Makkah, courses chosen not simply for beauty, but for their ability to reveal true champions.

UK

From London to the Midlands and across the country, the MGA Race to Makkah UK series unfolds across four championship stages, Whittington Heath, Forest Pines, Ingrebourne Links and The Shire.

Each venue has been carefully selected for its competitive integrity and stature, forming a national pathway that tests consistency, composure and performance under pressure. This is not a one-off event. It is a four-stop campaign where division champions rise and earn their place at the World Final.

Across parkland layouts and strategic championship designs, every round carries consequence.

Rooted in excellence and driven by purpose, the UK series sets the tone for the global stage.

USA - East Coast

On the East Coast, the Race to Makkah is contested at the breathtaking Streamsong Resort in Florida. A venue celebrated for its pure architectural brilliance and dramatic natural landscape. Carved through rolling dunes and framed by vast, uninterrupted horizons,

Streamsong strips the game back to its essence. Creativity, precision and nerve are rewarded in equal measure. This is a modern championship test, chosen for its strategic depth and competitive integrity, a fitting stage to identify those ready to represent the United States on the global pathway.

USA - West Coast

On the West Coast, the championship unfolds at the iconic Torrey Pines in California, a course steeped in major championship history and defined by its dramatic Pacific coastline.

Host to some of golf’s most memorable moments, Torrey demands resilience, discipline and composure under pressure. With ocean winds shaping each shot and championship conditioning throughout, it provides a stage worthy of national contenders.

Here, West Coast champions will emerge, earning their place at the Race to Makkah World Final.

Makkah

The spiritual centre of Islam, Makkah is where hearts are humbled and souls are uplifted. For our finalists, the Race to Makkah culminates in the sacred honour of performing Umrah, a moment of deep reflection, gratitude, and connection in the holiest place on Earth. This is more than a championship. It’s a pilgrimage of purpose.

Madinah

Before the intensity of the World Final, our finalists will arrive in Madinah, a city of serenity, gratitude, and reflection. In the tranquil shadow of Masjid An-Nabawi, they’ll find a spiritual calm that prepares the heart as much as the mind. Timeless in its warmth and hospitality, Madinah is the perfect resting place before the journey reaches its peak.

KAEC

King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) is a fusion of luxury, innovation, and vision, Saudi Arabia’s premier destination for sport and lifestyle. As the home of the Royal Greens Golf Club, it provides a world-class stage for the MGA World Finals. With its striking Red Sea backdrop and cutting-edge facilities, KAEC isn’t just hosting a tournament, it’s setting the standard for the future of global golf.

“The MGA was one of the best, holistic golfing experiences
I have ever encountered, I can’t wait for next year!”

Global Handicap Divisions

All players will compete within their respective divisions, ensuring fair and balanced competition across every event.
